Performance improvement projects (PIPs) are a regulatory requirement and essential for maintaining excellence in home care and hospice — but are your PIPs actually working? Using a 360-degree interdisciplinary approach, expert insights, and proven strategies, this webinar will help you avoid the common “check-the-box” trap and instead create PIPs that elevate patient outcomes, engage staff, and strengthen compliance.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:

  • Define the essential components of a high-impact performance improvement project (PIP) and how to select the right focus areas
  • Use data effectively to set benchmarks, track trends, and measure outcomes that matter
  • Explain how PIPs align with your QAPI program to strengthen quality and compliance
  • Distinguish between “check-the-box” projects and transformative PIPs that improve patient care
  • Apply real-world hospice examples to design PIPs that enhance CAHPS scores, reduce hospitalizations, and support compassionate care

WEBINAR DETAILS: This insightful and practical webinar is designed specifically for hospice and home care agencies looking to create and implement high-impact PIPs that meet CMS requirements and lead to real, measurable improvements in patient care, compliance, and organizational outcomes. You’ll learn how to go beyond using just QAPI data, survey feedback, and clinical metrics by identifying overarching program issues, setting clear goals, tracking outcomes, and driving meaningful, measurable improvement in your hospice.

MEET THE PRESENTER: Jen Kiehl-Miller, MBA, BSN, RN, Hospice Support Specialists

Jen Kiehl-Miller holds an MBA and has been a registered nurse since 1996. She started her hospice career in 2004 as a Clinical Director for a small start-up in rural Pennsylvania. Since then, she has held leadership positions at the local, regional, and national level for both large and small for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Jen has been sharing her expertise in growth, operations, compliance, and clinical strategy as an independent consultant since 2016. It is Jen’s philosophy that the growth of a successful hospice is dependent on a strong and compliant clinical program. There are no “sales” in hospice; census is built upon collaborative relationships that are founded in service excellence. Growth, however, is only a small component of a successful organization. In order to effectively lead a great program, managers must understand, evaluate, and drive all of the components that measure organizational excellence through well-defined, streamlined, and competitive processes.
