Hospice is a complicated, nuanced market. This webinar will analyze key performance indicators and principles that are commonly overlooked by hospice executives, owners, and investors. Beyond census and margins, this program will discuss hidden opportunities for enhancing value, long-term hospice success, financial risks, investment needs, and operational tactics.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:

  • Discern where to devote resources to get the best long-term return on your investment
  • Define the highest priority and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for today’s hospice market – it’s not just about census
  • Understand why some hospices thrive while others fail
  • Identify important focus areas that can enhance your product but that may not be intuitive for non-healthcare-raised business managers
  • Avoid pitfalls that can lead to lost revenue, stalled growth, and increased risk
  • Build a robust and scalable hospice product that will endure

WEBINAR DETAILS: Many investors, hospice workers, and other potential owners are exploring hospice as a business expansion opportunity or making their entrepreneurial start. Many don’t understand what it really takes to make a program successful – whether it is risk areas that can’t be overlooked or firmly managing programs in a way that will ensure durability through potentially lean seasons.

Whether evaluating an acquisition, opening a de novo hospice, or stabilizing an existing operation, this session will provide actionable insights grounded in real-world experience and market trends. You will better understand how to build value in your hospice from the inside out — clinically, operationally, and financially.

THIS WEBINAR WILL BENEFIT THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES: Hospice

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This insightful program will benefit hospice owners, operators, and investors; CEOs, CFOs, and executive directors; operations managers and business development leaders; entrepreneurs exploring hospice as a new venture; healthcare investors evaluating hospice opportunities; and anyone involved in scaling or stabilizing hospice programs.

MEET THE PRESENTERS:  Jen Kiehl-Miller, MBA, BSN, RN, Hospice Support Specialists and Greg Grabowski, Hospice Advisors, Hospice Insights

Jen Kiehl-Miller holds an MBA and has been a registered nurse since 1996. She started her hospice career in 2004 as a Clinical Director for a small start-up in rural Pennsylvania. Since then, she has held leadership positions at the local, regional, and national level for both large and small for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Jen has been sharing her expertise in growth, operations, compliance, and clinical strategy as an independent consultant since 2016. It is Jen’s philosophy that the growth of a successful hospice is dependent on a strong and compliant clinical program. There are no “sales” in hospice; census is built upon collaborative relationships that are founded in service excellence. Growth, however, is only a small component of a successful organization. In order to effectively lead a great program, managers must understand, evaluate, and drive all of the components that measure organizational excellence through well-defined, streamlined, and competitive processes.

Greg Grabowski has been an influential figure in the hospice movement since 1999, bringing a unique blend of leadership and entrepreneurial insight. With expertise across nonprofit, for-profit, and national-level hospice organizations, he excels in enhancing culture, developing strategic plans, and fostering leadership growth. Greg’s work reflects his ability to forecast market trends, empower healthcare professionals, and build operational efficiency.

For over eight years, Greg has been a trusted consultant. As a partner at Hospice Advisors, he has facilitated innovative projects such as leadership coaching, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions, helping clients improve operational processes and expand services. Greg’s latest initiative, Hospice Insights, builds on his passion for guiding organizations toward excellence through innovation. He remains committed to helping hospices navigate the evolving healthcare landscape by fostering sustainable growth and high-quality care for patients and families alike.
