ADRs continue and have escalated to the recovery audit contractor (RAC) level for both home health and hospice. With increased hospice oversight and medical audit reviews, ADRs may catch providers struggling with how to effectively submit documentation for optimal results. This presentation will be a "how-to" guide to understanding ADRs and how to submit one as requested.

MEET THE PRESENTER:  Kathy Ahearn, RN, BSN, PHN, ALECC, Inc.

Kathy Ahearn has dual bachelor’s degrees in nursing and social work. She is currently CEO and founder of ALECC, Inc., which provides consulting, mentoring, and education to all post-acute care providers, with an emphasis in the hospice industry. She began healthcare work due to a disabled parent and later a child living with a chronic disease. Her passion is healthcare, experiencing it both professionally and personally.

Kathy has always been a trailblazer in healthcare. She helped develop pain scales to standardize assessment with the American Pain Society and the Joint Commission. She expanded into medical devices, developing one of the first real-time cloud-based disease-specific software programs to assist patients, clinicians, and managed-care organizations to improve outcomes and collect data for the diabetic population. Currently, she has branched into YouTube to create a channel that will support colleagues and clinicians moving forward in healthcare.
