Does Medicare hospice eligibility have the makings of a mystery? Well, no more guessing! Hospice 101 will take participants through the hospice process, identifying appropriate hospice admissions with an emphasis on Medicare eligibility requirements. It will cover the qualifications and documentation needed to support an admission. Turn “mystery” into memory as you learn the ins and outs.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:

  • Define both technical and clinical Medicare hospice eligibility requirements
  • Explain what is required on the Election of Benefits and Patient Notification of Hospice Non-Covered Items, Services, and Drugs
  • Identify critical documentation an agency should acquire to support a Medicare hospice admission
  • Describe how to use LCD guidelines to determine a qualifying hospice diagnosis
  • Understand what constitutes a problematic hospice admission

WEBINAR DETAILS: This insightful program will review Medicare eligibility requirements, the required hospice admission documentation, including both technical and clinical requirements, and address what qualifies a person for hospice. There will be a segment regarding key disease states facing hospice agencies today, and what clinical symptoms and conditions should be present and documented to support a primary diagnosis. The program will highlight key areas of payment denials agencies can avoid by understanding Medicare hospice eligibility.

For agencies in areas of enhanced or extended payment oversight (CA, NV, TX, AZ), this will be a great course to help your agency understand appropriate hospice admissions and how to document to support hospice eligibility. If you are new to hospice, this session will be a great investment in new staff and new agency owners. It will also serve as an excellent refresher course for all hospice staff.

THIS WEBINAR WILL BENEFIT THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES: Hospice, Palliative Care

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This informative session will assist all new hospice staff, new agency owners, finance professionals, and clinical leadership with documentation challenges. It can be used to orient new hospice staff and as a great refresher course for hospice clinical staff, especially those identified by QA as requiring documentation support.
