This three-part series is “all you need to know” as a hospice clinical manager, beginning with key regulations for hospice admission and ending with quality reporting. Part 1 will go through the hospice process from admission, identifying the regulations related to Medicare hospice eligibility, and all of the necessary documentation required to manage your team. It will identify areas of risk that agencies face related to both survey and additional medical documentation review. She has a unique ability to identify agency challenges and opportunities and quickly provide education, support, and mentoring to organizations. Kathy began healthcare work due to a disabled parent and later a child living with chronic disease. She has experienced healthcare professionally and personally, dedicating her life to it and to working as a change agent for the betterment of all served. Kathy helped develop pain scales to standardize assessment with the American Pain Society and the Joint Commission. She expanded into medical devices as a Managed Care Director, developing one of the first real-time cloud-based disease-specific software programs to assist patients, clinicians, and managed care organizations to improve outcomes and collect data.
