The West Virginia Council for Home Care & Hospice 

 The West Virginia Council for Home Care & Hospice provides regulatory support, resources, education, and leadership to home health providers throughout West Virginia. Our work is guided by a commitment to quality care, ethical standards, educational resources, fiscal responsibility, and organizational stability.

Home Care and Consumer Advocacy in Virginia and West Virginia

We advocate for home care and hospice providers—and the individuals and families they serve—by working to:

  • Protect access to quality home- and community-based care.
  • Promote fair and equitable reimbursement.
  • Support reasonable regulatory and auditing standards.
  • Prevent fraud, waste, and abuse while protecting responsible providers.
  • Ensure that home care and hospice remain accessible healthcare options.

2027 Legislative Priorities

The Virginia Association for Home Care & Hospice represents the full spectrum of healthcare and personal care services delivered in homes across the Commonwealth. Advocacy is central to our mission. That commitment drives us to elevate our members’ perspectives, highlight their successes, and address the challenges unique to community-based care.

Our 2027 agenda focuses on five priorities:

  • Advance informed public policy. Promote policies and regulations that protect quality and support effective home- and community-based care.
  • Strengthen reimbursement. Support payment levels that sustain access, quality, and provider viability.
  • Expand care options. Encourage innovative home- and community-based models that respond to evolving needs.
  • Improve regulatory implementation. Foster ongoing dialogue and education to help providers meet requirements while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Promote balanced oversight. Align regulatory expectations with sound business practices and the realities of delivering care in the home.

Advocacy

We provide our members with the tools and resources necessary to work with their local, state, and federal representatives on issues that are important to them. Such issues include regulations, voting rights, and back reimbursement related to the way they run their businesses.

Education

Holds conferences for executives and key staff that covers a wide variety of important topics, including compliances, regulations, how to submit proper claims and nursing documentation, and how to fill out assessment forms to show that the correct care is being given.

Networking

We sponsor numerous meetings around the state and host committees and task forces for all hot-button issues. Our association is about connecting people with the organizations that have the information they need. We are information brokers, if you will, providing you with the answers you need in person or via email.

 

Home Care/ Personal Care Aide Virtual Training

This new training program provides 32 hours of virtual curriculum followed by 8 hours of competency training from a sponsoring home care agency.
